RETA Releases New Ads

“Mrs. Redford, Please Don’t Close My School”

This morning, RETA launched a new campaign calling on Premier Redford to stop the Heartland Transmission Line because of the impact it will have on Colchester Elementary School. Beginning today, ads will run on radio, in various newspapers, and online. You can find out more about the campaign and listen to the radio ad at www.dontclosemyschool.com.

In a press release issued this morning, RETA Executive Director Garnett Genuis explains the purpose of the ads. “We are giving voice to the children who will be affected by the closure of Colchester School,” he said. “Up until now, the government has been completely unwilling to listen to the children who are affected. We hope that these ads will give these children a voice and that the government will finally listen.”

“These ads are hard-hitting but fair. Premier Redford personally pushed this forward, so she must take personal responsibility for the fact that these unneeded transmission lines will force Colchester Elementary School to close.”
